It's essential that you know the following about the FeverTag product.

Turning on/Off: The Fevertag has a software protection to keep it from being accidentally turned off. To turn the unit on, press the colored button. If you see 3 flashes of the LED, the unit is turned on. Holding the power button down for three (3) seconds turns the unit off - resulting in two flashes of the LED.
Penetrating the "wax plug": Make sure that the FeverTag body is mounted as close to the animals head as possible. It is very important that the probe exceeds the natural wax plug in the ear canal. If the probe is not past the wax plug, you will NOT get accurate monitoring of the animals temperature.
SetPoint Breaching (Alarming): If the animal's temperature exceeds the units setpoint configuration (temperature) the software will do some quick evaluations and will cause the tag to beacon with a SINGLE FLASH of the LED about every 3 seconds.
Diagnostic Beaconing (Hyperflashing): You also need to know if something is wrong! If the unit, for any reason, does not pass internal computer diagnostics -or- detects a damaged probe, the unit will "HYPERFLASH." This will be a series of short flashes of the LED, closely spaced. DO NOT TREAT THE ANIMAL if a hyperflash is observed. REMOVE IT AND A INSTALL A NEW TAG and send the hyperflasher' back to us for credit. Fevertags will typically replace a unit that is hyperflashing (with no signes of visual damage) at no charge.
Postponed Monitoring: The unit does NOT monitor temperature for SIX (6) hours as it's turned on. If you turn the unit off and back on, this clock resets and monitoring is again postponed for six hours.
Preparing a used tag for reuse: After a tag is removed from an animal, it should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol using either a brush or rag, to sterilize the tag before being used in another animal. Be sure to wipe the probe with isopropyl alcohol also. Be sure to turn the unit off if it is to be stored for an extended time. Do not store FeverTags in direct sunlight or a vehicle for extended periods.
How many times can it be used? We have used FeverTags through as many as six 30-day feed cycles, ten-plus short cycles of 10-20 days, and about every combination in between Testing for the next installation is easy: After each head is finished and the tag removed, turn it off, clean it, and turn it back on. If the unit comes on, the tag's internal battery diagnostics indicate it's good for another 60 days by three flashes of the LED. If it's close to exhausted, the unit will not turn back on.
Cattle Can't Talk! It's simply a "Check Cow" light that alerts you to the animal having an abnormal temperature. Varying configurations let you use it for your specific protocol - it is not intended to set the rules for your operation but to complement your toolbox with an easy-to-use, simple, tool that makes you money and helps you produce better product.
How does it work with different treatment protocols? Very well! Different compounds affect temperature differently. In some cases, the FeverTag is the tool that tells you that the treatment "kicked in." In other cases, you can actually watch the progress of the treatment taking effect, or may even alert you that the treatment may not be working as you expected.

Returns & Replacement policy and requirements

1. Keep all original packing material, boxes, and documentation in the event that your merchandise needs to be returned. Items returned without all packing materials may not be accepted.

2. Before making a return or exchange, please call us (Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST) to obtain a Return Authorization number. All returns require an authorization number. All returns must be received in a shipping box - not an envelope - to protect the integrity of the items.

3. If you should experience a manufacture's defect, please call us immediately. Your product will be promptly replaced at our expense. We cannot accept returns or exchanges on certain items, including: any item returned without all of the original packaging material or any special order items or items listed on the website as non-returnable

4. No refunds will be given after 30 days from the order date. All returns accepted after 30 days may be subject to a 30% restocking fee and will only be exchanged for another product or issued a store credit good towards future purchases. The product must be unused and in its original package.

5. Shipping charges are non refundable, unless we sent the wrong item to you. If you return your items for a refund and your order falls below the level for freeshipping, a shipping charge will be assessed.
